Milestones

Sales Conference 2019

Let us share with you one of the most anticipated events in the company, the ANNUAL SALES CONFERENCE! Where everyone celebrates their accomplishments, showcases their talents, and recognizes their job well done for the whole year!

California Clothing, Inc. is proud and excited to share more of these moments with you! And we’re hoping that you’ll be part of it someday!

CCI Logo Making Contest

Let us take you back to how we came up with the CCI Logo: The company logo you see today was the result of the company-wide Logo Making Contest that was held last November 22, 2021.
Every employee was encouraged to participate, present their ideas, and express their creativity. Among the entries, our Chief Operating Officer chose and decided on one design that stood out: The winner of the logo-making contest was Mr. Darrel Louise Almazor from the E-Commerce Department.
His design conveys class, elegance, and simplicity.

Team Building 2019

Team-building is one of the most awaited activities employees hope to experience again. As a company that promotes inclusivity and growth, we conduct team-building activities to celebrate the wins of not just every individual but also highlight the performance of each department.
Each activity is curated to exhibit not just camaraderie and teamwork but will also allow them to have time for relaxation, giving a rejuvenated vibe that will benefit them in the workplace. Having a team that cares for the welfare of everybody is such a privilege an employee can have.
A gentle reminder from Helen Killer, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” In this way, when there are difficult times, an employee can say that he has a team to lean on.
Hoping that good times will continue so we can share activities like these with you.

Mental Health Talk

Last August 25, 2022, we conducted a MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS TALK with the help of our company physician and speaker, Dr. Jerald Mojica.
We encouraged employees to attend this discussion since the issue is timely and we believe that talking about it will enlighten those people who are still subscribed to the misconceptions and stigma surrounding mental health.
We want everyone in the company and others to have a positive mindset when they hear the words MENTAL HEALTH. Being open and asking for help should be normalized. Caring for our mental health must be treated equally with maintaining our physical health, as well.

Zumba Session

As a company that supports and cares for its employees, we offer a free, one-hour ZUMBA session held in the company’s covered court every Tuesday and Thursday.
Aside from promoting physical fitness, we want every participant to have an avenue where they can relax and have fun. Through Zumba, we encourage our employees to strive for balance with their mental and physical health.

Company Gym

Being physically active is important to everyone!
In our company, we support employees who want to be fit and healthy. Our Company gym is equipped for each unique goal of our employees. It is open Monday to Friday for those who want to break a sweat.

What are the benefits of working out?
1. Boost both physical and mental health
2. Releases happy chemicals in our body
3. Improves Sleep
4. Fuels Energy
5. Improves focus and drives productivity

To further boost the benefits of physical activity, you also have to commit to a healthy diet especially if you are working with weight management and aesthetics.

Guess Tambayan

Here are some photos taken from our first Guess Tambayan last August 26, 2022.
This social activity is held every last Friday of the month from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. It is our way to give them time to relax and have fun!
Stay tuned for more happy moments that are yet to come!

Blood Letting Activity

“Creating moments of kindness during a time of need does wonders for your mental health and feeling of well-being.” It is according to Robert DeSimone, MD, Director of Transfusion Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
In addition to our Mental Health Campaign, we invited the DOH-Philippine lBlood Center to visit our company to do a Blood Letting Activity last September 16, 2022.
We asked our employees who are willing to give a small amount of their blood as we believe that their kindness and courage in donating their blood can save a life.
DOH-Philippine Blood Center has been a major partner of California Clothing, Inc. for many years and our Company was awarded a Gawad Juan Luna Award 2019 for our contributions to their cause.

Basic Life Support Training

Situational awareness can save lives!
Emergency or critical situations always happen at the most unexpected time. Unfortunately, there are incidents where other people’s lives are at stake. Staying calm is easier said than done. The truth is, in such situations, most people don’t know how to react.
Last July 15, 2022, Ms. Princess R. Beato, RN, Occupational First Aid & BLS CPR with AED and
Mr. John Neil Salvadora, Safety Officer 2, Occupational First Aid & BLS CPR with AED, conducted Basic Life Support Training specializing in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for our employees.
Its goal is to educate and equip our employees with First Aid, Basic Life Support, and CPR. And to better prepare them for any unexpected incidents.

Halloween Decor Contest

Did you know??
The word “Halloween” comes from All Hallows’ Eve means “hallowed evening” and is celebrated on the night of the 31st of October every year. As a celebration, the Human Resources Department organized an Office Halloween Decoration Contest in the company in which every department showed their competitive spirit and decorated their offices with the best they could. The corporate office turned into a horror house for half of the day!
To share with you a glimpse of the said event, here are some photos that were taken last 28th day of October 2022.

Mental Health Talk

“NO HEALTH WITHOUT MENTAL HEALTH.”
This a powerful quote to remember from our recent mental health talk presented by our invited guest speaker, Ms. Joan Mae Perez- Rifareal, MD, DPBP, FPPA of the Philippine Psychiatric Association.
Yesterday’s talk revolves around MENTAL HEALTH: DEALING with the DEMANDS of WORK and LIFE. It is a validation that the work-life imbalance will definitely result in mental health issues. However, we should not be defeated by those demands.
Remember, that you are not alone in this journey. Have faith that everything that you’re going through today shall pass tomorrow because change is constant.

Season of Giving

Mother Teresa once said, ” It is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
This a mindful reminder that everyone has a chance to give what they want. However, giving with our loving heart is best, even if it is just a little. The happiness we can receive when giving is much greater than receiving something. As the Christmas season approaches, when giving and sharing are most observed, we hope that every day could be a Christmas day where everybody can give and share without hesitation.

Christmas Party

Nothing beats the memories of the ’90s!
As an early celebration for the coming Christmas, the management organized this year’s Corporate Christmas Party with an exciting theme: Guesscape to ’90s.
Everyone was encouraged to wear their most stylish Hip-Hop outfits. This year’s party went back in time and reminisced. To recollect and rejoice about all the great memories that happened in the past, particularly in the ’90s.

Christmas Carol

“Let’s sing Merry Christmas and a happy holiday. This season may we never forget the love we have for Jesus…”
It is a very familiar song you’ll listen to from the Christmas Carolers this season. We are happy that the management allows its employees to visit and perform Christmas Carols in different department offices. Since it’s already a Christmas tradition, it’s a fun event for the employees to experience.

2023’s First Friday Mass

Mark 1:7-11
This is what John the Baptist proclaimed: “One mightier than I is coming after me. I am not worthy to stoop and loosen the thongs of his sandals. I have baptized you with water; he will baptize you with Holy Spirit.”
It happened in those days that Jesus came from the Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John. Upon coming out of the water, he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon him. And a voice came from the heavens, “You are my beloved Son; with you, I am well pleased.”

Sportsfest

Just a little throwback on some activities we organized prior pandemic, one of which is the annual sports fest held in the company’s covered court. Indeed, this program is a great help in building strong camaraderie and sportsmanship toward our employees. We are glad we’ve adapted to the new normal and wish to have programs like this again soonest.

Bloodletting Activity

What a meaningful act of kindness to start the year!
Extending our sincerest gratitude to our kind employees who willingly gave a bit of their blood during our Bloodletting activity yesterday.
May your kindness prosper more.

New Employee Orientation

What a great way to start February!
After two years of group gathering restrictions, we have finally adjusted to the new normal. We are very happy to welcome our new employees as part of the CCI and GUESS family.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR!
Do not hesitate to give love by showing at least your effort to make someone happy! Have a glimpse of our simple celebration on the VALENTINE’S DAY!

Ash Wednesday

” In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” – Genesis 3:19 KJV
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the penitential Lenten season and gently reminds us to repent and reconcile our relationship with God.

FY 2023 MIDYEAR BUSINESS REVIEW

WHAT HAPPENED TODAY?
FY 2023 MIDYEAR BUSINESS REVIEW
It is the much-awaited day when Department Heads gather and has an opportunity to present their department’s progress and accomplishment for the first half of the fiscal year 2023 which was held in the CCI’s training room.

First Friday Mass (March)

Today’s Homily for the first Friday Mass of March:
Prophet Ezekiel tells us that the Lord delights not in the death of the wicked but in his wholehearted conversion. Those who strive to remain in the state of grace will surely live not to die.

Mental Health Talk

We thank the HRD – Clinic and Dr. Cymon Aries CAstillo for initiating another series of mental health talks that emphasized the importance of knowing what burn-out is and why we feel burnt out, especially when it comes to our job. Truly, being burned out is not just as simple as being tired of what you’re doing. Hence, it is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion felt by anyone caused by excessive and prolonged stress. However, it should never be a reason for us to stop, we may rest but also have to make sure to go forward. Remember, “it’s just a bad day, not a bad life.”

Sales General Assembly 2023

A moment to remember! Another fun learning and accomplishments added to the list!
Thank you, because without you, Store Heads, this event would not be possible. Thank you for letting us celebrate this experience with all of you, and we look forward to more exciting memories with you!
And that concludes our three days (March 20-22, 2023) Sales General Assembly!

HIRAC and Preparedness Seminar

One of the responsibilities of the employees when it comes to working is ensuring the safety of everything around them. Some could be the people, things, or natural circumstances beyond a man’s control that might be hazardous to everyone! And this will be achieved when they are prepared and aware of all the safety measures!
With that, the management initiated a seminar about Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control (HIRAC), and Disaster Preparedness, in which it tackled the right of every employee to have guaranteed safety and health at work.
“Remember; when disaster strikes, the time to prepare has passed.” – Steven Cyros

Sexual Harassment Awareness Seminar

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent!
LEARN HOW TO SPEAK YOUR DISAPPROVAL!

As we truthfully care for our employee’s physical, emotional, and mental welfare inside the company, the management conducted a seminar that talked about SEXUAL HARASSMENT AWARENESS. It’s an initiative to discuss this topic with everyone, whether you belong to any gender group. Remember that harassment happens now to any gender now! So, we have to be mindful. We should know who to call for help.

It’s now your time to be heard and get the support you needed!
“If not NOW, then WHEN?… It’s not tomorrow, it’s not yesterday, it is NOW.” – R’Bonney Gabriel MU2023

Insomnia Awareness Seminar

Insomnia is a common sleeping disorder some are experiencing right now. It seems ordinary, yet trouble with having enough sleep every day can lead to poor performance at work.

Awareness could be a possible prevention, so we conducted a seminar about it with the help of our attending clinic general physician, Dr. Cymon Aries A. Castillo.

Occasionally, having difficulty falling asleep is bearable due to many circumstances we had throughout the day. However, let it not be part of the daily night routine.

Kumustahan Program

Sharing candid shots on the first launch of our Kumustahan Program last July 31st, preceded by our HR and Admin Manager, Sir Joe Tabanera.

The program design is to connect to everyone in the company at any level. To know how well our employees are physically, emotionally, and mentally. To determine and work out the concerns that circulate in the company and also to get suggestions for the betterment of everybody.
Comments were noted and treated with high confidentiality.
The first and the succeeding ones were successful. And the management is striving to make changes based on their concerns in the long run.

Productivity Boosting Learning Session

Productivity Boosting: An HR-Initiated Learning Session
The key to accomplishing everything is finishing your most vital task ahead! It is a principle-driven from EAT THAT FROG by Brian Tracy. The analogy of eating the ugliest frog (finishing the heaviest task) you have for the day is a perfect action to do and complete the rest of your job well.
There are days we tend to stall the jobs given to us. And that’s reality! However, this attitude may lead us to pile up tasks.
This learning session aimed to lessen the times we delay the supposed-to-be-done jobs handed to us. We hope that we have incorporated all the essential strategies for our participants.

Supervisory Development Program

Mastering the art of communication is the language of leadership. Empowering and getting along with the people that surround you is another level. But ensuring their growth and development is the highest call of being a leader.

With that, we would like to express our sincerest appreciation to all our corporate supervisors who attended this year’s first supervisory development program, conducted by the Human Resources Department last October 11, 2023, at the CCI Training Room. Rabies is a vaccine-preventable, zoonotic, viral disease affecting the central nervous system. Once clinical symptoms appear, rabies is virtually 100% fatal. – World Health Organization
In most cases, rabies is treated poorly by most people. A common misconception is that its effect is not that critical. That is why an initiative from the Human Resources – Clinic to conduct a seminar tackling proper education about rabies. Our company nurse, Ms. Milyn Vila, facilitated the discussion with our company physician, Dr. Cymon Aries Castillo, last September 29, 2023, in the Training Room.
